I've been pretty impressed by the battery on the S6 Edge.
There's no doubt it's a smaller battery than the one I've had on the Note 3 but it's lasting me way longer.
Whether this is due to a more power efficient Android OS or whether it's the Exynos chip that is sipping power, I can't tell but I am glad it's working.
Don't take my word for it though, have a look at the picture of the battery usage on the S6 Edge.
I took the phone off the charger at about 6.45am.
At the time the picture was taken, it was 7.42pm and I had gotten a good 12 hours and 54 minutes of usage.
Note also that there is approximately another 2 hours of battery life left on the phone.
Usage that comprised of little spells of gaming, time spent on Facebook, listening to music, checking up on the stock market, acting as a hotspot and the ever-present messaging.
All these were also accomplished under the circumstances of Wifi left on, Bluetooth turned on and connected to my smartwatch and mobile data left on too.
Lastly, all these took place under normal usage. Power Saving mode and Ultra Power Saving mode were not utilized.
In fact, if you see the image below, you'll note that if Ultra Power Saving mode was switched on, I would eke out another 4 h 49 min of battery life. That would mean, going by the time on the second picture, that I would run out of battery at about 12.50am.
For a phone that was taken off the charger at 6.45am, that translates into a battery life of roughly 18 hours. That is plenty of battery life for me. Colour me impressed all over again!
