Kindle Voyage

I love reading, absolutely love it. It's a journey of the mind, free of any travel charges and restrictions. I firmly believe though that there is no replacement for an old-fashioned book. There is something about the feel of a page running through my fingers that triggers memories of journeys taken with books during my younger years. I spent many a school holiday, parked in a bean bag next to a window with a huge stack of library books. The thing is, I never saw them as just books, they were literally portals for me to step into other worlds.

I used to drive my wife crazy packing two to three books in our luggage bags whenever we travelled. With the advent of technology however, I had taken to bringing along my tablet on our travels. It was certainly lighter but it just never felt the same. The most irritating thing however was the glare that was being emitted from my tablet - it did not lend itself to prolonged, comfortable reading sessions.

Up steps the Kindle Voyage, Amazon's newest and best e-reader to date. I had been eyeing one for a long time and finally, recently bit the bullet and purchased a set. Order was placed on 29th Jan and received in Singapore on the 4th of February.

So far, I've been plenty pleased with the Kindle Voyage. It has solved my biggest grouse with reading on my tablet - the glare. It is smaller and lighter to boot while providing a better reading experience. My recommendation would be, if you love reading, invest in one. It'll be worth it. The Kindle Voyage is not a book but it sure does provide one heck of a reading experience.
